David Shafer(RHP) “Shafe” was signed by the Reds in 2002, and he played in their organization until 2006. He was traded to Oakland and was with the organization until 2008. He signed back with the Reds as a free agent in 2009 and was released in May. In all, he played with 8 different minor league teams from Rookie ball to AAA. In his career, he won a NJCAA Division I national championship in 2002 with Central Arizona, a Pioneer League(SSA) championship 2003, and the AAA crown in 2008. He was also on both the Oakland and Cincinnati 40- man rosters.
Brian Peterson (C) “Pete” started his career in August of 1999 in the NY-PENN League (Rk). He has played 13 seasons for 10 different teams (Indians, Reds, Tigers, Astros, Pirates, Orioles, Diamondbacks, Brewers, Yankees, Royals, Bridgeport(IND), & Shreveport-Bossier(IND), reaching as high as AAA. He’s made 4 All-Star teams, was voted “Best Defensive Catcher”- Southern League by Baseball America in 2004, & has won 6 championships along the way(Rk, A, High A, AA, AAA, & INDY). He also was a member of the 2005 USA World Cup Team in Amsterdam.
